On July 17, 2015, Chandran Gallery, Juxtapoz, UNIV ,and T.F.R. Gallery teamed up for the second annual Surf Craft benefit auction and one night only exhibition to benefit Waves for Water. Global nonprofit, Waves for Water works with local communities, leaders, and partners to find long-term solutions and facilitate access to clean water in impoverished areas. This year 15 locally and nationally acclaimed artists created original work upon surfboards on exhibition for a one-night-only at Chandran Gallery in San Francisco, proceeded by an online Paddle8 auction. Invited artists include Chris Johanson, Dan Witz, Swoon, Logan Hicks, Grotesk, Mary Iverson, Brett Amory, Alicia McCarthy, WEST, Zio Ziegler, Kevin E. Taylor, David Arquette, Daryll Peirce, Beau Stanton and Ty Williams. Also included in the evening event, a pop-up surf space with Sunset Shapers, a special water filtration demonstration with Waves For Water’s Jon Rose, and music by Andy Cabic of Vetiver.
The online auction on Paddle8 is running now to July 29, 2015.
